Dale Ray LaFaver On July 11; 2018, Dale Ray LaFaver passed suddenly from his earthly home to his heavenly home. Dale was born on May 24, 1932 to Carl and Ruth Scobee LaFaver in Pollock, Missouri. He was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ.

Dale attended school through the eighth grade in Pollock and he graduated from Milan High School with the class of 1950. He briefly attended Kirksville State Teachers College, now known as Truman State. In 1951 he moved to Burlington, Iowa, where he met and married Eileen Powell, the love of his life, on January 5, 1952.

Dale and Eileen had one daughter, Connie Gail LaFaver Peterson. Dale went to work for Northwestern Bell Telephone Company as lineman and moved on to be an installer/repairman. He moved to Indianola, Iowa and worked as a foreman for a line crew out of Des Moines and finally retired as an engineer for NWB in 1985 after thirty-three years of service.

After retiring, he and Eileen moved to Pollock where farmed and raised cattle. That was their primary residence until 2016 when they moved to Fair Grove, Missouri to be near their daughter, Connie, and her family. Dale was a Master Mason for fifty plus years as well as a member of Eastern Star.

He was a member of the Telephone Pioneers and the NRA. Dale was instrumental in helping found and build the Pollock Community Center where he truly enjoyed playing his guitar and making music with friends. Dale enjoyed hunting and fishing and sports, especially watching his great grandkids play ball.

He loved family gatherings! Dale was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Max LaFaver. He is survived by Eileen, his loving wife of sixty-six years, his daughter, Connie Peterson(Ernie Wells) of Springfield, MO, his granddaughters, Stacia Nunley (Jim) of Fair Grove, MO, Summer Peterson (Shane Hankins) of Taneyville, MO, Sarah Lewis (Billy) of Fair Grove, MO and great grandchildren, Addyson Nunley and Sonja Nunley Bradley, Blake and Bailey Lewis, Landen, Dalton and Alivia Hankins and a host of relatives and friends.

A celebration of a life well lived will be held at Schoene-Ruschmeier Funeral Home in Milan, MO on Saturday, July 28, 2018. A brief visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 with the service to follow. Dale will be laid to rest in the Scobee Cemetery in Pollock, MO.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Scobee Cemetery Fund or a charity of choice.
