Dale’s Obituary Dale Waltman, 84, of Oshkosh passed away at his home early Tuesday morning, November 13, 2018. Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 17, 2018 at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church with Sister Anne Hall officiating. Burial in the Oshkosh City Cemetery will be held at a later date.

Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation at the funeral home. Memorials in Dale’s name can be made to St. Mark’s Lutheran Church. Holechek-Bondegard Funeral Home and Cremations in Oshkosh is serving the Waltman Family.

Dale Jean Waltman was the youngest of three children and was born April 6, 1934 in Oshkosh, Ne to Ethel (Rickard) Waltman and Ervin Waltman. Dale grew up near Blue Creek and attended country school and later graduated from Garden County High School in 1951. After graduating Dale worked on the family farm and helped many other local farmers and ranchers.

After the passing of his father he took over the family well business until it sold. He then worked trucking and as a hired hand for anybody needing help. Dale was united in marriage to Marilyn June White on June 1,1953 and to this union two children were born; Peggy in 1954, Michael in 1959.

Dale was baptized and confirmed into the Saint Mark’s Lutheran Church and was a devoted member of the church. He served on the church board for several years. Dale also served on the school board, was a member of the Eagles, and served on the Oshkosh fire department.

Dale always had to be busy, he passed time working in his woodshed, or around the yard. Dale loved children, he enjoyed watching his grandchildren and great grandchildren grow up. He is survived by wife June Waltman of Oshkosh; son, Michael Waltman of Oshkosh; granddaughter Kimberly (Zach Parameter) Waltman; grandsons Brent (Danielle) Waltman, Justin (Stephanie) Waltman, and Taylor (Brittany Koppman) Waltman; great grandchildren Ember, Paige, and Landry Waltman; June’s siblings, Rich (Arlida ‘Corky’) White, Bonnie Franklin, Donald ‘Duck’ (Verna) White, Jim (Judy) White, and Larry ‘Buzz” (Sylvia) White and many nieces nephews and great friends.

He is proceeded in death by parents Ethel and Ervin Waltman, daughter, Peggy Waltman, brother, Gilbert Waltman, sister, Audrey Olson, sister in law, Mary Stuart and brother-in-law, Robert White.
