Obituary for Daniel “Dan” John Bixby Daniel “Dan” John Bixby, 71, of Maple City passed away Sunday, October 14, 2018. Dan was born on April 20, 1947 in Niles, MI to the late Carl and Gennevieve (Velthous) Bixby. He married Patricia Lee Ostyn on April 23, 1971.

Dan founded Bixby Food Sales in 1985 and retired in 2013. In his spare time he enjoyed; fly fishing, baseball, basketball, golfing and hunting. He also enjoyed watching Michigan State play basketball and football.

Most importantly, Dan loved the time spent with his family and especially his grandkids. Surviving Dan is his wife Pat of 47 devoted years; children, Matthew (Nicole) Bixby of Empire, Michelle Bixby of Tawas, Dr. Jonathon Bixby of San Francisco; 2 grandchildren Tyler and Jake; siblings, Paul (Patricia) Bixby of Berrien Springs, Carl (Karen) Bixby of St. Joe, Janet (George) Shafer of Berrien Springs, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Dan is preceded in death by his parents.
