DANIEL’s Obituary DANIEL J. STEIN, age 77, beloved husband of 52 years, to Janet (nee Rider), loving father of Tina Stein (Paul Rogers), Amy Stein (Anthony Miksitz), and Melanie Strickler (Tate). Grandfather of Max, Lily and Jason. Dan leaves his twin brother Don (Karen), someone he was always very close to, sisters in law, Patricia Gaver (James), Nancy Warnement (Rick), and twelve nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by his parents, Norman and Lucille (nee Nye), and sister, Patricia Felske. A graduate of John Carroll University, Daniel was a Cleveland businessman and banker for over 37 years, beginning in 1966 with Cleveland Trust, including president of First Lorain Trust, and retiring as an executive from Key Bank in 2003. He was very active in the community, holding leadership positions in the American Lung Association, the local and national U. S. Power Squadrons, United Way, Cleveland Trust/Ameritrust Officer’s Club, St. Richard’s Parish, St. Joseph’s Parish, and Marblehead/Danbury Township.

Daniel was also an educator, teaching young people business skills through the Cleveland Junior Achievement program, and over 20 years teaching navigation and safe boating to adults and children through the U.S. Power Squadrons. He was an avid boater, and enjoyed travelling, spending time with family and friends, and was known for his sense of wit and humor. Daniel passed away February 9, 2019 after a long struggle with Parkinson’s Disease.

Funeral Mass Saturday, February 16, Holy Trinity Church (33601 Detroit Road) at 11 A.M. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends and family may call at CHAMBERS FUNERAL HOME of NORTH OLMSTED, 29150 LORAIN RD. AT STEARNS, FRIDAY 3-7 PM.
