Bennett, Daniel L., 64, Stewartstown, passed away January 22, 2019 at York Hospital. Born September 24, 1954 in Johnstown. Preceded in death by father, Stoy L. Bennett; Father in law, Michael Hanik; mother in law, Mary Hanik.

Survived by loving mother, Shirley (Fouchey) Bennett; wife, Mary Catherine “Cassy” (Hanik) Bennett; children, Daniel L. Jr. married to Tobi (Visosky), and James A. married to Jennifer (Ott); grandchildren, James V. Bennett and fiancee Rachel (Pugh), Jacob A. Bennett and Allison B. Bennett all of Stewartstown; brothers, Lester Bennett married to Vicki; Joseph Bennett married to Patty, all of Johnstown; and sister, Joyce married to Randy Jordan, Jeannette; also by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, brothers and sister in laws. He was a retired steelworker for Bethlehem Steel Corp. , graduate of St. Francis University, Loretto, Pa.

He was a member of St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Church, Woodvale. Dan was a loving husband father and grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his family. He loved playing basketball and was always the go to guy for family and neighbors in need.

Dan is going to be missed dearly by all of the people who knew him. Family will receive friends 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, January 25th, at KENNEDY’S 219 Ohio Street Johnstown, where Parastas will be held at 7:30 p.m. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 26th, at St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Church, Woodvale, Fr. Jim Davidson.
