Daniel Monroe Dixon, 71, of Belwood, passed away Sunday, November 18, 2018 at Hospice at Wendover in Shelby. Born in Cleveland County on January 25, 1947, he was the son of Monroe Claude Dixon and Lorene Spurling Dixon. Dan retired from Carolina Freight Carriers and the NC Department of Transportation.

He is survived by his wife Vickie McSwain Dixon; son, Chris Dixon (Heather) of Stanley; stepson, Michael Black of Concord; stepdaughter, Stacey Glover (Shane) of Shelby; sister, Nancy W. Peeler (Barney) of Belwood, brother-in-law, James Echeverri of Greenville; eight grandchildren, Cole Dixon, Logan Dixon, Autumn Glover, Brandon Glover, Trent Black, Tripp Black, Bella Black, and Mallory Black; two great-grandchildren, Brentley Hight and Ryker Hight and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from Noon to 1:00 PM at Kadesh United Methodist Church. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 1:00 PM at Kadesh United Methodist Church with the Rev.

Brian Elwell officiating. The burial will follow in the church cemetery with masonic and military graveside rites. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice Cleveland County, 951 Wendover Heights Drive, Shelby, NC 28150.
