He was born August 17, 1937 in Yellow Bluff, AL to George Wesley “G.W.” and Nealie Jane Avritt. He was a former cattleman, self-employed building contractor, and railroad, railcar cleaning service man.
He is survived by: his three sons, Rex Alton Avritt, Kevin Leslie Avritt, and Phillip Darrin Avritt; two brothers, Abraham “Buddy” Avritt and Robert Eugene Avritt; six sisters, Lizzie Jane Goodman, Alice Faye Champion, Violet Jobe, Ruby Vinson, Mary Ellen Gandy, and Evelyn “Lucy” Reinhart; six grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. Graveside funeral services will be held at Kelly Cemetery on Saturday, December 29, 2018 at 11:00 am with Rev. Chris Kynard officiating.
