Danny Joe “Pop” Jenkins, age 72, of Glenwood, passed away on Sunday, March 10, 2019. He was born on October 20, 1946 in Glenwood, the son of Lewis Joseph Jenkins and Minnie Coleen Jones Jenkins. On December 18, 1965, he was married to Gwen Jones.

He was preceded in death by his parents. He retired from the Briar Gypsum Plant and later from Centerpoint Schools. He enjoyed working on his farm, raising cattle, hunting, fishing and loved being around his grandkids.

He was a member and deacon of Daisy Free Will Baptist Church and taught Sunday school for many years. A 32nd degree Mason, he was a member of the Buffalo Gap Masonic Lodge, #484, in Langley. He is survived by his wife, Gwen Jenkins; two children and their spouses, Tracy and Tim Cogburn and Eric and Angie Jenkins, all of Glenwood; four grandchildren and their spouses, Kaleb and Crystal Cogburn, Shelbi and Brady Garner, Kolin Cogburn and his fiancé, Nicki Bowen and Emily and Devin Davidson; five great-grandchildren, Kyleigh, Hylan and Lyla Veazey, Kynslee Garner and Dawson Davidson; his sister and brother-in-law, Beth and Emmitt White of Langley; his nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, March 14, 2019, in the Daisy Free Will Baptist Church. Visitation will be Wednesday, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, at the funeral home. Interment will be in Mount Joy Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood.
