Obituary of Danny Benway Danny Benway, 56, passed at his home on July 24, 2018 with his family by his side after a brief, but difficult battle with cancer. Born in Niskayuna, NY on January 26, 1962 he lived most of his life in Clifton Park. Dan married his wife of 30 years Theresa on November 18th in 1988.

He was a loving father, husband, and friend. He was looked up to by his niece and nephews, and a hero to his sons. In addition to his wife, Dan is survived by his parents, James and Shirley Benway; sisters, Susan Nichols of Troy, Dawn (Doug) Freemire of Clifton Park, Cherly (Milt) Cutter of Hickory, NC and Tammy (Dan) Hinman of Ballston Spa; sons, James and Jared Benway; nephews, Corey & Cody Freemire of Clifton Park, nephews Tyler, Aaron and Coleman Hinman of Ballston Spa, nephew Noah and Niece Hannah of Hickory, NC, and Grand niece Meilah Freemire of Clifton Park as well as many other extended family members.

Dan was predeceased by his in-laws Jeffrey & Carol Jeffries. Dan had a forty-two year career at Country Club Acres, where he worked his way up to becoming a respected leader and pillar of the company. Dan was the type of person who others were drawn to.

While seldomly needing to invite company, he was always surrounded friends. He enjoyed fishing at his camp in the Adirondacks, playing with his beloved dogs, and working on projects in his home garage where he often entertained his life-long friends. He was known for being able to fix anything, a trait which he instilled within his two sons.

A private burial will be held for family and a private memorial gathering for friends and family will be held at the Benway residence on August 4th. Memorial contributions may be made to theAnimal Protective Foundation, 53 Maple Avenue Schenectady, NY 12302.
