November 11, 2018 Darlene E. Rooney ORANGE- Darlene E. (Ball)(Pelletier)(Buckman) Rooney, 66, of Main Street, died Saturday, November 10, 2018 at Quabbin Valley Healthcare in Athol. Born in Athol on July 25, 1952, she was a daughter of Walter Sr. and Mabel (Hodgkins) Ball and grew up in Athol, attending Athol schools. Darlene was married to Shawn Rooney on July 29, 2000 and enjoyed 18 years together.

She was previously married to Gerald Pelletier and Leon Buckman. Darlene was a PCA for a number of years for Catholic Charities as well as private care and had worked at the former N. D. Cass Company and Eastern Furniture, both of Athol. She enjoyed her plastic canvas art as well as playing cards.

Survivors include her husband, Shawn Rooney of Athol; her children, Charity Auchaogu and Jeremy Pelletier both of Orange and Julie Courtemanche of Keene, NH; grandchildren, Sky Mason, William Mason III, Tracy Styles, Nathan Pelletier, Jacob Pelletier and Anthony Courtemache; siblings, Linda Bailey of Orange, Clyde Ball of Athol, Debbie Ball of Las Vegas, NV, Walter Ball of North Carolina, Sandra Henshaw of Athol, Patty Whitney of New Hampshire, and Bruce Savage of Orange; many nephews and nieces. Besides her parents, Darlene was predeceased by siblings, Arthur Savage, Ola Whaley, Gregory Ball, Robert Savage and Douglas Savage. Funeral arrangements are pending with Witty’s Funeral Home, 158.
