Darryl Anthony Spaulding passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at his home in Norristown, PA. He was born on May 6, 1960 to Willie and Dessie Ree Spaulding in Norwalk, CT. He grew up in Norwalk, where he attended Norwalk Public Schools and graduated from Norwalk High School.
Darryl went on to attend Lincoln University in Pennsylvania. Professionally, Darryl had an extensive career at Marshalls Department Store where he rose to the position of District Loss Prevention Manager. He retired when his health began to fail.
Darryl met the love of his life. Rebecca Jugoon in May 2010 and they were joined in holy matrimony on October 14, 2016 in Philadelphia, PA. Darryl was a loving and devoted husband, brother, uncle and friend.
Darryl rededicated his life to the Lord Jesus Christ and was baptized at The Evening Light Tabernacle, Milton, Ontario, Canada. Hearing the preached Word of God along with soul searching gospel music was Darryl’s favorite part of the worship service. Darryl was an outgoing, always positive, fun-loving, humorous guy who enjoyed a good joke.
He participated in many charitable events over the years; especially the Men of Philadelphia Cooking. Everyone that came into contact with Darryl felt that special connection and the joy he had in making that encounter with him last. Over the last 6 years of his life, Darryl received excellent care at both the Bennett Cancer Care Center in Stamford CT, as well as Fox Chase Cancer Center in Philadelphia, PA.
The doctors, nurses and staff at both facilities are to be highly commended for their heartfelt dedication. In May 2017 Darryl became a published author with “I’M Possible! Finding the Light Within” He was preceded in death by his parents Willie and Dessie Ree Spaulding, Brother Newell Spaulding and Sister Jill Spaulding.
Darryl’s memory will live on forever with, his Wife, Rebecca Jugoon Spaulding; Brother, Charles Spaulding (Camille); Sister, Jackie Spaulding; Father-in-law & Mother-in-law, David and Sandra Jugoon; Brother-in-law, Peter Jugoon (Susan); Sister-in-law, Sarah Jugoon; Nephews, Justis and Isaiah Lewis, Daniel Jugoon; Nieces, Melissa Lewis, Blaire, Shannon and Joi Spaulding, Julia Jugoon and a host of other family and friends.
