David Allen Pavey February 16, 1965 – May 24, 2019 Share this obituary Send Sympathy Gifts Sign Guestbook| View Guestbook Entries| Send Sympathy Card| Memorial Donation Lifelong resident, David Allen Pavey, 54, died Friday evening May 24, 2019 at his residence. Born February 16, 1965 in Kincheloe, son of Clarence Sr. and Alice (Carlson) Pavey, David was a 1984 graduate of Engadine High School. On October 25, 1984, he enlisted in the United States Army and served until his honorable discharge on October 24, 1988 continuing in the Army Reserves until June 24, 1992.

David was formerly employed at Louisiana Pacific Corp. in Newberry and, in 2002, employed as a Corrections Officer at the Newberry Correctional Facility until present. David enjoyed NASCAR, drag racing, his companion dogs, music, collecting die cast cars and beer steins.

He was also an avid Green Bay Packers, Detroit Red Wings and Tigers fan taking in a Red Wing or Tigers game every year in Detroit with his friends. Most importantly, David was a devoted, loving father attending all the athletic events of his children Brenna and Ethan. David is preceded in death by his father Clarence Sr. and sister Dena Ludlow.

Survivors include his loving wife, the former Amy Burton of Newberry, whom his married September 7, 2002; children Brenna and Ethan both of Newberry; mother Alice (Jerry) Eifler of Rexton; siblings Clarence D. (Lori) Pavey of Newberry and Troy (Jeanette) Pavey of Peru, Indiana; aunt Deveda Scott of Houghton Lake; father-in-law Herb (Ann) Burton of Germfask; mother-in-law Jo (Fred Freeman) Burton of Newberry; brothers-in-law Herb (Nikki) Burton and Brian (Stacy) Burton all of Germfask. Memorial services celebrating the life of David will be held Sunday June 2, 2019 at 1:00 pm at the American Legion Post #74 in Newberry with Pastor Jim Duflo as celebrant. Interment with full military honors will take place at a later date at Forest Home Cemetery in Newberry.
