Obituary for David Andrew Roberson “Big Dog” Beloved Husband & Father David Roberson, 85, passed away at home on January 10, 2019. He was born April 13, 1933 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Paul and Lenore Roberson. Dave married his sweetheart Mary Helen Jose at St. Marks Cathedral in SLC.

Dave passed away after a courageous battle with heart disease. As a young man, Dave served honorably in the Korean War and returned home to complete his BA degree in commercial art, where he spent his entire working life. Dave had beautiful blue eyes with a captivating smile and a sense of humor and wit that charmed everyone who knew him.

He was extremely compassionate and understanding and showed everyone around him how to be a kind listener with sound advice no matter the topic. He was a master gardener and loved camping, fishing and time spent with his extended family that all adored him. He was always instigating water fights and telling campfire stories at Redfish Lake, his favorite vacation spot for many years.

Dave is survived by his children Teresa (Shawn), Michael (Nicholle) and Mary (Mark) in addition to his seven grandchildren, one great grandchild, nephews, nieces and extended family. Special thanks go out to every one of his family members that sacrificed so much of their time caring for Dave in his final months, weeks and hours. He came to better understand what an awesome family he had raised and felt so blessed by their enduring love and tender care.

He was also very well cared for by the entire staff of the VA Hospital which treated him with respect, empathy and care at each of many visits and stays. Dave was proceeded in death by his parents, siblings and adorable loving wife Helen. Dave’s funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on January 16, 2019 at St. Mark’s Cathedral – 231 East 100 South, SLC, UT.

A reception will immediately follow the service. Burial held at St. James Columbarium – 7486 Union Park Ave, Midvale, UT at 4:00 p.m. following the service. Upcoming Events Funeral Service , JAN 16.
