David Brian Allen, age 60 of Metamora, passed away at his home on Thursday, February 28, 2019. On February 6, 1959, David was born the son of Albert James and Rose Mary (Putnam) Allen in Pontiac. David was a proud thirty year production employee for the General Motor Company.

David was a passionate traveler, especially if he was heading West or Southwest on his favorite stretch of Route 66. He also had a great passion for trucks, which undoubtedly stemmed from his long career at General Motors. Those that knew him well knew that he that he loved fishing, hunting, riding motorcycles with his brother in earlier years.

Dave enjoyed the 4th of July, for him it had to be a 2 hour event. He cherished the times spent with family and friends above all the time spent with his great nephews as he was able to be a kid again. David is survived by his mother Rose Mary Allen of Lapeer and his niece Mary (Greg Wale) Allen of Fair Haven, MI.

He is also survived by his great-nephews Jacob (Mary) Wale, Kyle Wale, and Tanner Wale, and his great-great niece Freya Wale all of Clare. He had many close cousins but Beverly (Bill) Peacock of Metamora and Kathy Lutz of Farwell were especially helpful to him after his brother passed away. David was preceded in death by his father Albert Allen, his brother Steven Allen, his sister-in-law Barbara Allen, and his niece Teresa Allen.

A memorial service in honor of David will take place at the Clare Chapel of the Stephenson-Wyman Funeral Home on Saturday, March 9, 2019 at 1:00 P.M. with Pastor Jim Young officiating. Friends may visit his family at the funeral home on Saturday from 11:00 A.M. to the time of service at 1:00 P.M.
