(66) of Johnstown passed away January 23, 2019. Born October 21, 1952 son of Howard King and Charlene M. Wilson. Preceded in death by his parents and sister Dyrthe and nephew Michael Whitfield.

Survived by his brothers and sisters Stephen Wilson, Ola Mae Hobson of Greensboro, Alabama, Deacon Jeffrey L. Wilson (Wendy) and Goddaughter Shannon Timmons. Nephews Professor at Penn State Stephen J. Wilson (Alissa) and family of Port Matilda, PA and nephew Douglas L. Whitfield and sons. David’s Heart Transplant Family, our family, Cristin Dominski (David’s Angel), her husband Todd Dominski and his parents Ron and Vickie Dominski of St. Francis Wisconsin, and many nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Dave attended and wrestled for St. Francis College before joining the military and loved watching college wrestling. Dave was a Staff Sargent with the US Air Force serving as a Security Policeman in Vietnam, Thailand and Korea. He was a 50 year member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church where he served as an Usher and the Van Driver, he enjoyed cooking for our Mother and Pastor Emeritus Rev.

Andrew Tilly and watching movies with Pastor Tilly. He was also a member of American Legion Post # 0294 in Downtown Johnstown. He was a former employee of Conemaugh-Blacklick Railroad and retired from Penelec as a mobile maintenance technician.

David felt Blessed to serve his country, He was a strong man with an outstanding work ethic. He loved his family and was a true hero. He suffered a major stroke in 1991and was blessed with Cristin’s Heart over ten years ago in 2008.

He was an inspiration to many. He was an Extreme and Passionate Pittsburgh Steeler Fan! He attended training camp every year, Steeler games and baseball games often since the 1970’s, his brothers Stephen and Jeffrey often with him.

David loved all music but especially Old School and Jazz. He was a mentor to his younger brother and his friends. He adored children, his laugh, voice and smile lit up any room.

Family and friends will be received from 5 – 8 PM Friday and are invited to attend his Homegoing Service at 11 AM Saturday at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, 205 Peelor Street, Prospect, the Pastor Rev. Clyde Williams, Jr. officiating, Committal Grandview Cemetery.
