David Earl Penny of Elm City, NC, age 66, passed away Tuesday, October 16, 2018. He was the son of the late Thomas H. and Becky Cagle Penny. He is preceded in death by his brother, Johnny Penny and sister, Mary Ann Harkins.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Teresa Coats Penny, and stepdaughters: Penny Austin, Elizabeth Bass and husband Les all of Elm City. He will also be remembered and loved by other family members and friends. David was a US Navy veteran and successful business owner of numerous electrical companies throughout his work life; he recently retired as an Electrical Engineer.

The family would like to give special thanks to all family and friends for their love, thoughts and prayers. They would also like to give special thanks to 3HC Hospice staff of Wilson, NC for their support and care. Gathering of Remembrance service will be held on Friday, October 19, 2018 from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service in Knightdale, NC.
