David Edward “Eddie” Jernigan, 66, passed away at his home on June 14, 2018. Eddie was born January 8, 1952 in Harnett County to the late Lewis Elton Jernigan and Rosa Lee Johnson Jernigan. For many years he was a Quality Assurance Specialist with Mallinckrodt and Novartis.

Eddie had a passionate love for music that was especially precious to him. He was a keyboardist as well as a vocalist with the Georgia Prophets for 25 years until his first daughter was born. He was an avid Beatles fan and made the comment on several occasions that their music changed his life.

He was an extraordinary dedicated husband and father, he sacrificed and worked diligently to provide for his family. He was and will always be, his wife and daughter’s best friend. A service to celebrate his life will be held at a later date.

Surviving: wife, Kay Salmon Jernigan; daughters: Lisa Kay Jernigan, Carrie Elizabeth Jernigan both of the home. Flowers are accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Transitions LifeCare, 250 Hospice Circle, Raleigh, NC 27607.
