Obituary for David McLain David E. McLain, 73, of Pittsfield, died September 27, 2018, at Hillcrest Commons, after a long battle with cancer. Born in North Adams, MA on September 19, 1945, son of the late Harold and Mildred Larabee McLain. He attended Drury High School and Greenfield Vocational.

Mr. McLain was employed as an auto mechanic at Berkshire County Tire and Goodyear Tire. He was married to his loving wife of 51 years, the former Elaine, C. Barnaby. Mr. McLain is survived by his wife, Elaine; daughter, Rene H. Batho, and her husband Michael of Cheshire, MA; two sons, Shawn D. McLain of Pittsfield and Patrick E. McLain and his wife Kari of Pittsfield; and three grandchildren, Bradley, Natalie and Joseph Batho.

He was predeceased by three sisters, Shirley Romero, Helen Gould, Charlotte McLain and his brother, Roger McLain. The family would like to thank Hillcrest Commons and their amazing team of nurses and CNA’s who provided wonderful care for him. The family would also like to thank Hospice Care of the Berkshires for all their help and support during his final months.

FUNERAL NOTICE: A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, October 13, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m., at the home of his daughter Rene, 2 Stonehedge Road, Cheshire. To send flowers to the family of David McLain, please visit our Heartfelt Sympathies Store.
