David L. Bottenhorn, Sr., age 74, of Rossiter, passed away, Tuesday, September 18, 2018, at Select Specialty Care in Johnstown. David was born August 7, 1944 in Wyandotte, Michigan to the late John and Laura (Delp) Bottenhorn. He was a veteran of the US Marine Corps.

David was known around the area as “Old Man Dave”. He loved to make people laugh and always had a joke and a conversation for his friends. David was an avid fisherman who always carried his fishing pole in his car so that if he happened to find a good fishing spot while on his travels he could just pull over and fish.

His grandchildren called him “Funny Grandpa”. He was very proud of his children and grandchildren who were the light of his life. He will be very missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by two sons; Wayne Bottenhorn and wife Theresa of California, David Bottenhorn, Jr. and Fiancee’ Dawn Durocher of Michigan and one daughter; Kelly Bottenhorn and Fiance Jeremy Betz of Johnstown. His beloved grandchildren; David III, Emma, Cody, Riley and Tyler. David was the youngest of eight brothers and was preceded in death by an infant sister.

A memorial service will be held to celebrate David’s life on Friday, September 21, 2018 at 4 pm at the McCabe Funeral Home in Punxsutawney. Military honors will be accorded by the Jefferson County Veterans Honor Guard.
