Obituary for David L. Buechlein Dateline Jasper, Indiana David L. Buechlein, age 78 of Jasper, Indiana, passed away at 4:37 p.m. CDT on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville, IN. David was born in Jasper, Indiana on October 16, 1939 to George and Theresa (Fritz) Buechlein. He married Martha Zoll on November 24, 1960 at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Tell City.

He served in the U.S. Navy and was a member of the VFW Post #673. David retired from Jasper Cabinet Company after 41 years of service. He was a member of Precious Blood Catholic Church and their Men’s Club, he was also a member of the Jasper Knights of Columbus and the Jasper Moose.

He enjoyed gardening, wine making, was a avid I.U. Basketball, Indianapolis Colts, and St. Louis Cardinal’s fan, and enjoyed spending time with friends and family. Surviving are his wife, Martha Buechlein, Jasper, two daughters: Jackie Howard, Jasper, Jo Ann Mehringer, Jasper, three sons: Brad Buechlein (Sheila), Jasper, Mathew Buechlein (Dori Yorysh), Ft. Lauderdale, FL, and Greg Buechlein (Nancy), Ireland, seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, two sisters: Mary Schmitt (Howard), Jasper, and Virginia Knies, Jasper.

Preceding him in death were three brothers, Maurice, Ambrose, and Donnie Buechlein. A Mass of Christian Burial for David L. Buechlein will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, April 16, 2018 at Precious Blood Catholic Church in Jasper, with burial to follow at Fairview Cemetery in Jasper. The VFW Post #673 will conduct military gravesite rites.

A visitation will be held from Noon to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 15, 2018 at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper, Indiana, and from 9:00 a.m. until the 10:00 a.m. service time at Precious Blood Catholic Church on Monday. The Jasper Moose Lodge #1175 will perform a memorial service at 5:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Precious Blood Catholic Church, or to a favorite charity.
