Obituary for David Lee McKinney Evans, GA – Entered into rest Monday, September 3, 2018 Mr. David Lee McKinney, 83, loving husband of Mrs. Margaret Elton McKinney. Mr. McKinney retired after serving 20 years in the US Army as a Chief Warrant Officer. Shortly after retiring, he went to work in the Pathology Lab at The Medical College of Georgia for 10 years.

An avid golfer, hunter, fisherman, and Atlanta Braves fan, Mr. McKinney was also passionate about photography. He was a longtime member of the Freemasons. Family members, in addition to his wife include his sister: Doris M. White (Edd); children: Casey M. Metzger (David), Brian J. McKinney (Sandy), Lisa M. McDowell (Paul) and Kelly M. West (Cary); grandchildren: Courtney M. Metzger, Ashleigh Anne McKinney, Benjamin McDowell, Lauren McKinney, Collins West, and Finley West.

He was preceded in death by his parents: William T. McKinney and Clemmie Casey McKinney and siblings: William T. McKinney, Jr., George Casey McKinney and Joyce Adams Abernethy. Memorial services will be Thursday, September 6, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at Stevens Creek Church with Rev. Marty Baker officiating.
