David Otto Mehr, 69, passed away on June 18, 2018 in Salt Lake City, Utah after a battle with cancer. He was born on December 19, 1948 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Erwin Mehr and Carol Fern Bird. Dave married his sweetheart, Susan Chrisine Marrelli, on August 5, 1967 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. Susan preceded him in death on December 12, 1999. Dave married Lindi Graham on September 15, 2006 at Mehr Park in Midvale, Utah.

He graduated from West High and was a standout multi-sport athlete. Dave was good at everything and to those who knew him, he was known as the hardest working guy around. He enjoyed his work in the flooring industry, especially working with his friends at IHC and trying to keep them from walking in the glue.

Dave loved to remodel homes and turn a pile of junk into a wonderful space for someone to live. He surrounded himself with his family and created a beautiful family yard (Mehr Park) to share the love. Dave successfully made each of his children and grandchildren feel as though they were his favorite.

We will miss his practical jokes, making a deal on a house, his selfless example of service and his sweet smile and warm hug. Survived by his wife, Lindi; children, Shawn (Shannon) Mehr, Troy (Julia) Mehr, Andrea (Jaren) Ruff; Tracy (Wendy) Patterson, Candace (Thayne) Larsen and Monica (Cameron) Wilkinson; 24 grandchildren; mother, Fern MaComb; siblings, Carol Mehr, Robert (Debbie) Mehr, Brent (Patti) Mehr, Ron Mehr, Tracy (Jamie) Clendenen and Scott (Kathy) Mehr.
