David Wayne “Brillo” Bannister, 65, of North Vernon passed away Wednesday, February 27, 2019, at his residence. Born November 6, 1953, in Seymour, Mr. Bannister was the son of Wayne and Alberta (Reece) Bannister. Mr. Bannister was a 1972 graduate of Jennings County High School and retired in 2016, but had worked at Harley Bag, farmed for Curt Burbrink, surveyed for Fewell Pettit and Bender, and custodian for Decatur Plastics.

He enjoyed playing music, farming, camping, golf, watching sports on tv. He especially loved watching his grandchildren. He is survived by a son David Tyler (Kristen) Bannister of North Vernon; grandson, Brady David Bannister of North Vernon; and granddaughter, Kali Thompson of North Vernon; brothers, Steven (Joyce) Bannister of Scipio, Gary (Shelia) Bannister of North Vernon, and Mark (Allison) Bannister of Indianapolis; nephews, Brian, Michael, Jared, Noah and Joshua; great-nephews, Jacob, Logan, Bradley and Landon; and great-nieces, Brooklyn, Breeanna and Savannah.

He was preceded in death by his parents. A funeral service will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 8, 2019, at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon with Paul Thompson officiating. Family and Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday, March 7, 2019, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Friday.

Burial will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Scipio. Memorials may be made through the funeral home to the Scipio Fire House.
