Obituary of David Bechtol, Sr. David S. Bechtol, Sr., 55, of Pottstown, PA, passed away on Tuesday, January 8, 2019, at Reading Hospital. He was the husband of Susan “Sue” (Hewitt) Bechtol with whom he shared 11 years. Born in Norristown, PA, on September 11, 1963, Dave was the son of the late Samuel and Marian (Hardy) Bechtol.

Dave worked as a truck driver for 33 years for various companies. He enjoyed mechanic work and helping his family and friends. In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, David S. Bechtol, Jr., Pottstown, PA; one daughter, Jaimi L. Bechtol, Honey Brook, PA; three grandchildren, Lucidea Tyler, Jack Gruber, and Marceline Gruber; one stepdaughter, Angela Fillman, Pottstown, PA; and two sisters, Beverly Witzel, wife of Larry, WI; and Barbara Bechtol, Boyertown, PA.

Visitation will take place on Tuesday, January 15, 2019, from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m at the Houck & Gofus Funeral Home, Inc., 955 N. Charlotte St., Pottstown, PA 19464. A Life Celebration will follow at 12:00 p.m. Interment will take place after the service at Highland Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dave’s memory to the Wounded Warrior Project.
