Obituary for Dayton R. Ellis Dayton R. Ellis, age 78, of Farwell, passed away at his home on Thursday, May 24, 2018. He was born the son of Dayton and Doris (Fouch) Ellis on Sept. 2, 1939, in Mt.

Pleasant. He married Joanne Livingston in 1959 and she preceded him in death in 1989. Later he met and married Peggy Lewis on August 6, 1994, and she survives him.

Dayton has lived in Farwell for the past 15 years. He had worked in Heating and Cooling for most of his working life owning and operating Ellis and Son’s Refrigeration. Dayton had served on the Shepherd Tri-Township Fire Dept.

for 18 years, 16 years as a Captain. He also enjoyed working on and selling cars, Bluegrass Festivals, and fishing and hunting with his sons. Survivors include his wife, Peggy, three sons, Randy Ellis, Ron (Ann) Ellis both of Shepherd, and Mark Ellis of Six Lakes, his grandchildren, Jason Ellis, Christy Shook, KellyJo Bruce, Melissa Ellis, Josh Ellis,and Carrie Wood as well as eight great-grandchildren.

Dayton is also survived by several step-children, step- grand and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife and a brother, Larry. A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 1, at 11:00 AM at the Farwell Chapel of Stephenson-Wyman Funeral Home with Pastors Scott Harper and Sue Murphy officiating.

Friends may visit with his family at the funeral home on Thursday, May 31, from 5 to 8 PM and on Friday from 10 to 11 AM.
