Mrs. DeEtte “Tump” Jones, age 90 and a resident of Forest passed away Saturday, May 26, 2018 at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland after an extended illness. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 from the Forest United Methodist Church. Interment will follow in the Eastern Cemetery under the direction of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Forest.

Visitation will begin at 1:00 pm on Wednesday at the church. Mrs. Jones was a native of Zachary, LA, and was proud of the fact that she was a resident of Forest for the past eighty years. A retired secretary for the Veterans Administration, Mrs. Tump will be remembered for her love for animals, particularly her dogs, and her expertise with flowers as an “almost Master Gardener”.

She was a very active member of Forest United Methodist Church. She is preceded in death by her husband: Powell Jones; her parents: J.T. & Mary T. Henley Robertson; and one sister: Mary Lee Mayo. Survivors include her two children: Tom (Jamie) Jones of Memphis, TN and John (Susan) Jones of Holly Springs; three grandchildren: Brian (Anna) Jones, Will (Lora) Jones, and Fowler Jones; four great-grandchildren: Bailey, Clarabelle, Liberty, and Sebastian Jones; one special niece: Oleta Thomas of Brandon; and one special cousin: Mary Gail Freeman of Olive Branch.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Forest United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 68, Forest, MS 39074.
