Dean W. Hoelting, 78, of Auburn passed away Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at his home. He was born Jan. 20, 1940 in Carlinville, the son of John and Marie Rosentrater Hoelting.

He married Glenda O’Dougherty on Dec. 19, 1964 and she preceded in him in death on March 9, 2018. Also, preceded in death by one sister, Marge Minor and one brother, Joe Hoelting.

Dean served in the U.S. Navy from 1958 til 1962. Surviving are his daughter, Dawn (Keith) Eickenberg; two granddaughters, Brooke and Camryn; four sisters, Virginia Morehead, Marylin Kuntzman, Jeanett Gagan and Marsha Hester; three brothers, Jerald, Bill and Bob Hoelting; several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 12noon, Friday, June 22, 2018 at Camp Butler National Cemetery, Springfield with military honors conducted by the U.S. Navy and Inter-Veterans Burial Detail of Sangamon County.
