Deb Providakes a.k.a. “Wanda the Witch”, age 59, of Sturgis, MI passed away Sunday, Nov. 4, 2018 at the Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo, MI. She was born March 26, 1959 in Springfield, Massachusetts a daughter to the late Anthony F. and Barbara (Chaffee) Marino.

On Oct. 29, 1977 in Springfield, Mass. She married Bill F. Providakes.

Deb was a Florist for over 40- years and was best known for her love of Halloween and portraying herself as “Wanda the Witch” for over 30 years on Halloween… Read More » Night on Electric Court in Sturgis. She enjoyed people and loved spending time with and shopping for her grandchildren. Surviving are husband: Bill of Sturgis, MI; 1 son: Bryan (Heather) Providakes of Sturgis, MI; 2 daughters: Mary Providakes and Cory Kotz of Sturgis, MI and Amanda Providakes and Tommie Walls of Westland, MI; 5 grandchildren: McKenna, Sophia, Dominic, Benjamin, and Damian; 1 sister: Barbara Jean Marino of Mass.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 son: Anthony in 2015, and one sister: Kathryn Marino. The family will receive friends and relatives from 4:00 – 6:00 P.M., Thursday, Nov. 8, 2018 at the Rosenberg Chapel of Hackman Family Funeral Homes, 807 E. Chicago Rd.

, Sturgis, MI 49091. According to her wishes, cremation will follow the visitation. Memorial donations in her memory may be directed to the family or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, envelopes are available at the funeral home.
