Deborah Bernice Barbour Grayson Young of Kansas City, Missouri August 15, 1952 – May 4, 2019 Deborah Bernice Barbour Grayson Young affectionately known as “Maw” passed away on Saturday, May 4, 2019. She was born August 15, 1952, at General Hospital in Kansas City, MO to Helen M. Barbour and John Barbour. Mrs. Young was preceded in death by her parents, an older sister, Phyllis Green, older brother, John Barbour Jr., son, Keith T. Barbour and her first husband, Charles Grayson.

Mrs. Young had an eventful life. She attended Central High School before entering the workforce. She spent many years as a working mother of two sons, Keith and Eugene.

She held various positions throughout Kansas City including a mail supervisor at Docusort before becoming disabled. This never stopped her from assisting her mother with serving the public through organizations such as the Elks Lodge or attending services at Palestine Baptist Church. Deborah also never let her health challenges stand in the way of lending a helping hand to a friend in need.

She leaves to celebrate her life: her son, Eugene Wallace of Kansas City, MO, a niece, Heather Green of Kansas City, KS and a nephew, Kirk Tucker of Kansas City, MO. She will be missed. Memorial Services for Mrs. Young will be 4:30 to 6:30 P.M. Saturday, May 18, 2019, at E. S. Eley & Sons Funeral Chapel.
