Deborah Ann Winstead Daniels, 74, of Eastover, passed away on March 14, 2019. She died peacefully having been surrounded by the love of family during her final days. Deborah was born April 19, 1944, in Rocky Mount, NC to Ambler William Winstead and Oveda Proctor Winstead.

She was the oldest of five siblings. Deborah was married to Thomas Daniels; the two shared 56 years of marriage. Tommy always said of Deborah that she was “the prettiest woman I ever saw”.

The couple spent the early years of their marriage in Augsburg, Germany where they had many adventures! She was a faithful wife and a loving mother to two children: Michael and Renee. Deborah was a lifelong educator and retired after 34 years of dedicated service to Cumberland County Schools.

She carried her love of education over to her family by encouraging a love of reading and lifelong learning in her children and grandchildren. Deborah was a fun-loving and beloved grandmother to four grandchildren: Laurin, Carmen, Blake, and Blair. Deborah loved to travel with her husband and family.

Her spoon collection, proudly displayed in her kitchen, chronicled her many travels across the United States and around the world. Her family and friends remember fondly her excellent cooking, grace, thoughtfulness, and kind spirit. She was a classy woman who lived a life of poise, dignity, and love above all.

Deborah was preceded in death and joins in Heaven her mother and father, and members of her Daniels family. Deborah is survived by her husband Thomas Daniels, son Michael and wife Lori, daughter Renee Collins and husband Anthony. Grandchildren and great-grandchildren left to treasure her memory are Laurin Daniels Allred, husband Alan, and son Jonah; Carmen Daniels Blair, husband David, and daughter Kelly; Blake Collins; and Blair Collins.

Deborah is also survived by her siblings William Winstead, Ronald Winstead and wife Betty, Bertie Barber, Angela Harris and husband Cecil, and Jackie Owens and husband Kenneth. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the Chapel of Rogers & Breece Funeral Home in Fayetteville, NC, on Sunday March 17th at 4:00pm. The family will receive friends in the parlor beginning at 3:00pm.
