Debra Charlene “Debbie” Deckard, 66, of Terre Haute, passed away in her home surrounded by family and friends on Thursday, June 28, 2018. She spent the last decade working as a teller for Crane Credit Union. Before that, she’d spent her career in early childhood advocacy and education.

She graduated in 1971 from Wiley High School, then went on to receive a degree in business from Indiana State University. Debbie was born June 16, 1952 in Terre Haute to Charles Richard Catte and Edith Irene (Ledderman) Catte. She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Oral David Deckard; a daughter, Nancy Gutwein (Justin) of Indianapolis; sisters, Sandra Stadler (Tim) and Jerrie Sparpaglione (Robert); a grandson, Simon Gutwein; niece, Carla Wehrmeyer (Mark); nephews, John Lawson and Jim Stadler and four great-nephews.

She was a member of Berean Baptist Church and the Swinging Mates Square Dance Club. Visitation will be Sunday, July 1, 2018 from 4:00 until 8:00 pm in DeBaun Springhill Chapel with funeral services on Monday, July 2, 2018 at 10:00 am in the funeral home with Pastor Larry Lilly officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park.
