Our sweet mother, grandmother, friend and neighbor Della Witney Winnie Wood, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Friday October 5, 2018 at the age of 97. Della was born on April 12, 1921 to Kedzie Noble and Sarah Winnie in Goshen Utah. She was raised and educated in Payson Utah.

She married Don Lee Wood on November 22, 1941 in Evanston Wyoming; they were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. Della was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving faithfully in numerous Stake and Ward positions. Don and Della served many years in the Provo Temple.

Her faith and love of the Savior was evident in all her dealings with her family and fellowmen. Della devoted her life to serving others. Don and Della loved camping, fishing and traveling.

They were avid BYU fans, and loved going to their grandchildren’s activities. Della loved to cook and enjoyed sharing her meals with friends and family. The Christmas holiday season was Della’s favorite, we all looked forward to getting our box of homemade candies.

Della is survived by three children: Kathy Ravsten (Joe, deceased); Douglas Lee Wood (Debbie); Kris Anderson (Kim); daughter-in-law Kay Hayden, sister-in-law Vivian Winnie. She has 12 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, a son, Raymond L. Wood, her parents and six siblings.

We will be celebrating Mom’s life on October 13, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Wheeler Mortuary located at 211 East 200 South in Springville. A viewing will be held at the mortuary Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to the funeral. Della will be buried at the Evergreen cemetery located at 1997 South 400 East, Springville Utah.
