Services for Delmer Gay, age 65 of Rentz, GA, will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday July 28, at Baker Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Rentz Cemetery. Rev.

Joey Diers and Rev. Jeffrey Coleman will officiate. Visitation will be Friday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home.

Delmer was a lifelong resident of Laurens County. He was retired from Dodge State Prison and delivered papers for the Courier Herald after retirement. He was an active member of Baker Baptist Church and loved working with kids.

He loved to fish and hunt and spending time with his family, helping with the wild game supper at Baker, spreading the Word of Jesus, even in his final weeks. He liked playing golf and loved his family, riding dirt roads with friends. Delmer loved to spoil his wife.

He is preceded in death by his father, Comer Gay, grandparents, John L. and Allie Dixon, brother, Ronnie Gay, grandson Michael Gay and father in law, Royce Williams. Survivors include his wife, Vickey Gay, children; Jamie (Sonja) Gay, Johnny Braddock, Chris Braddock, Jessica Braddock ( Chad) Keown, mother; Loette Roberson, mother in law, Mattie Williams, brother Donnie (Jeanie) Gay, sister in law, Jan Gay, brother in law, Larry (Sheila) Williams, 13 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren numerous nieces and nephews. Ron Gay, Randy Gay, Don Gay, Chuck Williams, Travis Williams, Toby Williams, and Brandon Williams will serve as pallbearers.
