Dr. Charles Wayne Buie, 74, of Dublin, passed away Sunday, September 23, 2018 after a bravely fought battle with cancer. Dr. Buie was born on October 7, 1943 in Bainbridge (Decatur County), Georgia and was a psychologist at the VA Medical Center in Dublin for many years before his retirement. He was an avid gardener and was known for his varieties of tomatoes, peppers, and peas.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Larson Buie, and his parents, Ruby Hall and Mack Buie of Bainbridge, and Rudy Terry of Indianapolis, Indiana. Survivors include his three children, Chandler Buie (Nicole) of Longview, Texas; Chuck (Rhonda) Buie of Savannah; and Charla Buie (Nitin) Sathe of Alexandria, Virginia. Wayne had 5 grandchildren, Jack and Grace Buie of Texas, Chas and Beau Buie of Savannah, and Larson Sathe of Alexandria, VA.

He was also survived by a brother, Johnny Buie, of Gainesville, Georgia, and a sister, Georgia Terry Roll of Pittsboro, Indiana as well as several beloved cousins, nieces, and nephews. The family would also like to thank Gloria Smith for being a wonderful friend and caregiver to both of their parents and the family. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 29, 2018 in the Chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home in Dublin, GA.
