Services for Betty Ann D. Currie, age 87, of Rentz, will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, September 8, 2018, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Dublin Memorial Gardens.

Rev. Larry Daniel and Rev. Kevin Moore will officiate.

The family will receive friends Friday from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Mrs. Currie died Wednesday, September 5, 2018. Mrs. Currie was retired from the VA Medical Center.

She was the pianist at Mt. Zion Baptist Church for over sixty-five years. Mrs. Currie also played the accordion and sang.

She was a member of the Joyful Senior Band. Mrs. Currie was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-two years, Albert Lee Currie and her parents, Alton and Maeaudley Dominy. Survivors include her children, Al (Debbie) Currie, of Dublin, and Lynne C. Humphrey, of Rentz; grandchildren, Jason (Jodi) Warren, of Dexter, Mandy (Stan) Jessup, of Rentz, Alicia (John) Ballard, of Dudley, and Meghan (Caleb) Wilson, of Dublin; great-grandchildren, Hunter Jessup, Maleigha Jessup, Jaxon Warren, Emree Warren, Suzanne Ballard, and Paul Ballard; sister, Virginia Tipton, and brother, Jim Dominy, both of Rentz.
