James “Jim” Brown, age 65, of East Dublin, passed away on Thursday, October 18, 2018. Jim was a member of Liberty Baptist Church. He was a disc jockey for many years, working for various radio stations including WXLI 92.

7, WMLT, and WQZY 95. 9. He also worked with the Georgia Department of Corrections at Johnson State Prison for over five years.

Mr. Brown was preceded in death by his parents, J.C. Brown, Jr. and Hilda Jessup Brown. He is survived by his children, Eric Brown (Tamara), of Villages, FL, Angie Veal (Tim), of East Dublin, Jared Brown (Allyson), of East Dublin, Brad Smith (Maranda), of Rentz, and Lori Ricks (Jeffrey), of Dudley; grandchildren, Camren Turner, Shea Turner, Alex Veal, Lilly Brown, Cole Smith, Ayden Smith, Brooke Rogers, and Ally Wilson; sister, Linda Moye (Philip), of Wrightsville and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 3:00PM on Sunday, October 21, 2018 in the Chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home.

Burial will follow in Northview Cemetery. Rev. Brad Poucher will officiate.

The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2:00PM until service hour. Pallbearers will be Sonny Hobbs, Brad Smith, Keith Williams, Tim Veal, Kevin Moye, Robert Jones and Jeff Wells.
