Obituary for Delores Jean Douglas (Payne) Delores Jean (Payne) Douglas Delores Douglas of Elkview, departed this life Tuesday, December 18, 2018 to be in the arms of her heavenly father. Delores was preceded in death by her mother, Mary (Shaffer) Harper; father, Elvin Payne; and loving husband for 50 years, Charles Douglas Sr.; sister, Evelyn; and brother’s, Charlie, Gene, and Kermit. She is survived by her son, Doug and wife Sara; daughter, Renee and husband Cliff; grandchildren, Brandon, Cole, Breanna, Brechelle, and Chase all from Elkview; brothers, Richard, Leonard, and David; and sisters, Donna, Norma, Judy, and Cathy.
Also left to mourn, is her faithful dog, Foxy. Delores worked thirty plus years at WV State Hygienic Lab and was a member of Union Valley Gospel Tabernacle. She was a wonderful mother and carried that tradition on to being a wonderful grandmother.
Delores will be greatly missed by all who knew her. The family would like to thank the staff at Hubbard House for showing their kindness and compassion. A funeral service will be 1:00pm, Saturday, December 22, 2018 at Union Valley Gospel Tabernacle, Tuppers Creek Exit, Sissonville.
Pastor Robert Legg, Roy Moles, and Keith Monday will be officiating. Burial will follow at Elk Hills Memorial Gardens, Big Chimney. Visitation will be from 11:00am to 1:00pm at the church.
