Dennis Eugene Blue of Auburndale, Florida and formerly of Warsaw, Indiana passed away on Saturday, September 15, 2018 at Lakeland Regional Hospital in Lakeland, Florida at the age of 76. He was born on December 16, 1941 in Kendallville, Indiana to Melva L. Blue and Mary Ellen (Ott) Blue. Dennis was a resident of Kosciusko County, Indiana for 47 years, where he was a 1960 graduate of Warsaw High School.

He worked at Lake City Bank and was the owner of Service Liquors in Warsaw prior to his opening of DeNellie’s Pizza in Bourbon and Bremen, Indiana. In 1982 he moved to Fort Myers, Florida where he owned and operated Matlache Oyster House for many years. He then owned Edge of Knife in Polk City, Florida until his passing.

Dennis was also the past president of the Warsaw Jaycee’s and past member of the Warsaw Elk’s Lodge. He leaves behind one son, one daughter and four grandchildren. He is survived by his mother, Mary Blue and his sister, Paula Devenney (both of Warsaw, Indiana).

He was preceded in death by his father. A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 19, 2018 at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, Indiana and officiated by Pastor Larry Burkhart. Burial will follow with a graveside service at Oakwood Cemetery in Warsaw.
