Dennis L. Ashcraft July 27, 1953 – January 10, 2019 Dennis L. Ashcraft, 65, Michigan City, Indiana, passed away Thursday, January 10, 2019 at 4:00 pm in Franciscan Health-St. Anthony, Michigan City, Indiana Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm, Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, Indiana with Pastor Kim Cole officiating. Burial will follow in Patton Cemetery, LaPorte, Indiana. Visitation hours will be from 10:00 am -1:00 pm, Tuesday at the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel.

He was born July 27, 1953 in Hammond, Indiana. On September 26, 1987 in Michigan City, Indiana he married Karen Switalski, who survives Michigan City, Indiana; Also surviving are s two daughters, Jamie (Scott) Huss and Melissa Ashcraft both of La Porte, Indiana; son, Dennis “DJ” (Linda) Ashcraft Jr., step-daughter , Brandelle (John) Rogers and step-son, Randal Knotts all of Michigan City, Indiana; eight grandchildren, Austin, Eva, Aidan, Alicia, Abria, Kara, Brandon and Kayla; 6 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Mike (Elaine) Ashcraft of La Porte, Indiana, David (Daniela) Ashcraft of Texas and Dorsey Ashcraft of Westville, Indiana; four sisters, Peggy Smith of La Porte, Indiana, Laura (Ed) Dennett, Mary (Martin) Hernandez both of Michigan City, Indiana and Brenda Rogers of New Buffalo, Michigan; Best friends that are part of the breakfast club, Larry Glosser, Al Erow, Mohamed Mussa and Dave Kalk; He was preceded in death by his mother, Dolores McCann Ashcraft Rogers; Dennis worked for over 35 years for Kentucky Fried Chicken serving as area manager. He was a huge fan of the Los Angeles Dodgers, Beatles, Johnny Cash, Glen Campbell, Notre Dame Football and Bobby Knight.

He was president of the Monday breakfast club having met for over 25 years, sharing stories with those members and their softball stories having played for the Kentucky Colonels softball team and the Family Softball team. Memorials contributions may be made to the family of Dennis L. Ashcraft. .
