Obituary for Derek Gibson Derek Gibson, 38, passed away Wednesday, August 22, 2018. He was born in Danville on June 16, 1980 and was an associate for Cyn-Mar Wholesale Florists in North Carolina. Survivors include his father, Doyle (Thelma) Gibson; his mother, Beth Dixon (Don Grady); stepfather, Tony Dixon; grandmother, Wilma Gibson; brothers and sisters, Dara (Jason), Hunter (Danielle), Deborah, Kris, Olivia (Jon) and Leslie (Brian), nephews Ryan, Zack, and Alex; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Chelsea Eanes.

Derek was preceded in death by grandparents, William Hugh Gibson, Cotton and Imogene Reynolds. The funeral service will be Monday, September 3, 2018, 1:00 p.m. at Perryville United Methodist Church with Rev. Doug Lester officiating.

Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the church. Walden Funeral Home Perryville is entrusted with arrangements.
