Funeral services for Dessie Nadine Hindman, 91, of Wills Point, are scheduled for 2:00 PM, Monday, March 11, 2019, at Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home in Wills Point. Burial will follow at White Rose Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service time.

Dessie passed away Friday, March 08, 2019, in Canton, TX. Dessie Nadine Parkerson was born February 23, 1928, in Edgewood, TX, to parents, Cleveland Columbus Parkerson and Allie Dora Swain Parkerson. She was raised in Edgewood and graduated from Edgewood High School in 1946.

After graduating, she married Birnam Bernard “B.B.” Hindman on August 15, 1947, in Grand Saline, and they lived in Edgewood, Dallas, and many other places around the state while B.B. and Dessie served as pastor. Dessie was a homemaker and raised three children. She and B.B. moved back to Wills Point in 1993 and continued to serve in church.

They were members of Myrtle Springs Baptist Church. Dessie loved and devoted her life to her family and church families. She loved music; especially the Stamps Quartet, and Eddy Arnold.

She enjoyed dominos, watching Wheel of Fortune, and never turned down a trip to Mississippi or a catfish dinner at Miller Grove. She is preceded in death by her parents, Cleveland and Allie Parkerson; husband, Birnam Bernard Hindman; twin sister, Essie Hindman and sisters, Velma Peden and Opal Parkerson; brothers, Elmer Parkerson, Kirby Parkerson, Lloyd Parkerson and Arby Parkerson. Dessie is survived by her daughter, Glenda Miller and husband, Kelles of Wills Point; son, Donnie Hindman and wife, Cathy of Balch Springs; daughter, Sharon Walker and husband, Mickey Loewer of Petal, MS; grandchildren, Chad Joyner and daughter Faith, Andie Kay Joyner, Ashley Rubio, Lindsey Hindman, Leah Windham and husband, Jason, Nick Walker, Jessica McNeil and husband, Malcolm; Eleven great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and friends and her little buddy George.
