Obituary for Devere E. Willey Traverse City – Devere Eugene Willey, 80, of Traverse City passed July 3, 2018 at Munson Hospice House. Devere was born on September 24, 1937 to the late Donald and Engene “Jean” (Donkers) Willey in Lake City, MI. Devere entered into marriage with the former Beverly E. Norman on January 18, 1958 in Manton, MI.

Devere, known as Willey worked as an auto body mechanic on motorhomes for over 20 years. He retired from TCRV in 2000. Willey was a quiet man who has been described as consistent, dignified and steadfast.

He enjoyed figuring out how to keep the old one running instead of buying a new one when something broke down. He could be relied on to help his daughters and grandchildren in any given situation. Willey is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Beverly of Traverse City, daughters Amy (Jeff) O’Brien of Williamsburg and Judy Willey of Empire; 10 grandchildren: Andrew (Kristen) O’Brien, Abigail O’Brien, Adam (Alyssa) O’Brien, Trevor O’Brien, Nicole O’Brien, J.D. Willey, Aaron O’Brien, R.Jay Willey, Isabella O’Brien and C.J. O’Brien.

His brothers Dave Willey of Maple City, John (Geri) Willey of Traverse City and Andrew Willey of Traverse City; sister Daisy (Larry) Laskiewicz of Interlochen and many other loving family members and friends. Willey was preceded in death by his parents, brothers; Don, and Daniel, sister Doris and granddaughter Angela O’Brien. Visitation for friends and family will be held from 2pm to 4pm at the Reynolds Jonkhoff Funeral Home on Thursday, July 5, 2018.

Funeral services will also take place at the funeral home on Friday July 6, 2018 at 11am with a visitation held one hour prior.
