Dewayne D. Diestelhorst, age 65, of Edwardsville, Illinois, passed away at 2:28 P.M., on February 11, 2019, at his residence. Dewayne was a retired civil engineer from the Army Corps of Engineers. Dewayne served in the United States Air Force after graduating high school.

After his military service he attended Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville where he received his engineering degree. He was born on October 1, 1953, in Bunker Hill, IL. Dewayne was the son of the late Dean & Geraldine Marie (Smith) Diestelhorst.

Dewayne is survived by his 3 brothers Wesley, Jeffery, and Stanley Diestelhorst. He is also survived by 3 nephews. A memorial visitation will be held on Monday February 18, 2019, from 10:00 a.m. till 11:00 a.m. at Weber & Rodney Funeral Home in Edwardsville.

A memorial service will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Brian Holle presiding. Interment will be at Bunker Hill City Cemetery.
