Dewey W. Bunnell III, 76 of East Liverpool passed away peacefully at the Valley Hospice Care Center North at Trinity West in Steubenville on Thursday, March 7, 2019. He was born in East Liverpool and lived his entire life here. A son of the late Dewey W. Bunnell Jr. and Betty Shaw Bunnell Jenkins, he had been raised by his mother and step-father, the late Charles Jenkins Sr. Dewey lived a very diverse life.

He worked in every area pottery at one time or another and he retired as a mold runner from Hall China in 1985. Dewey was a Nazarene by faith and a member of the East Liverpool Oriels Club. He loved the television shows, Star Trek, and Mash, he traveled extensively, loved collecting elephants, and was a great Pittsburgh Steeler fan.

Dewey was a 1963 graduate of Beaver Local High School and had been a reservist with the US Marine Corps. Passing on before him, in addition to his parents was his grandson, Jacob Lee Bunnell; his son Kevin Michael Bunnell; and his sister, Joy Kay Jenkins, He is survived by his loving wife of forty years, Betsy Balogh Bunnell; son, Dewey W. Bunnell and his wife Nicole of Pine Haven, WY. ; daughter, Clarissa Bunnell-Wright of Steubenville; brothers, Thomas C. Jenkins and his wife Judy of East Liverpool and Lee Jenkins and his wife Debbie of East Liverpool; grandchildren, Dewey W. (Cheyane) Bunnell V, Evan (McKenzie) Dotson, Hunter Dotson, Camron Bunnell, Tyler (Jenny) Bunnell, Abigail Bunnell and Isabella Wright; great-grandchildren, Nova Juniper-Rose Bunnell, Sophia Marie Dotson and Damien Lane Bunnell.

He also leaves behind 8 rescue dogs that he loved and adored. Pastor Scott Ricardi will celebrate Dewey’s life, Saturday, March 9, 2019, at 11:00 AM, at the Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester. Friends may visit with his family on Friday, March 8, 2019, at the funeral home from 2:00-4:00 PM and 6:00-8:00 PM.

Dewey and his family would like to extend a sincere thank you to Senior Link staff and clients that were special friends to him, Always Best Care, and his aide, Marissa Walter. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to an Animal Rescue of your choice or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, in Dewey’s name.
