Obituary for Diane Gallivan Diane Gallivan, 76, passed away Wednesday, June 7, 2018. She was born December 3, 1941 to the late Valentine and Wanda (LaGod) Koweck in Detroit, Michigan. Diane graduated from Wayne State University with a degree in journalism.

After college she worked as a women’s editor for the Dearborn Press. Diane was united in marriage to David Gallivan on March 17, 1966. Diane served as an accountant for D. L. Gallivan Inc., the family business, for several years.

She cherished her time spent with family and friends, and in her later years greatly enjoyed the company of her granddaughters. Diane loved reading, traveling and donating her time at the Kalamazoo Institute of Arts. She had also been a volunteer at the USTA Boys National Championships in Kalamazoo, for 15 years.

Diane is survived by her husband, David; daughter, Lorin Gallivan; son, Patrick Gallivan; and granddaughters, Lyndsey and Lily Case. She was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Koweck. Diane had many special lifelong friends and some great home helpers she loved as her own family.

The family will greet friends on Thursday, June 28th from 4-8pm at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th St., Kalamazoo 49009. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Kalamazoo Institute of Arts or to a charity of your choice.
