Obituary for Diane L. Balkavich Diane L. Balkavich, 58, Antis Township died Saturday December 29, 2018 at Hillview Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, Altoona after a brief illness. She was born February 19, 1960 in Altoona, daughter of the late Pauline J. (Dalby) Hummel. Surviving are her husband, Thomas A.; a son, James (Allie) Dillard of Bel Air, Md.

; two grandchildren, Stella and Leif; a brother, Gregory Dougal in Wisconsin; and a sister, Robin Bohnenberger in New Jersey. She was the owner of Happy Tails Grooming, Doggie Daycare & Training, Duncansville/Tipton. Diane was a professional dog trainer and competitor.

She was a member of and served as a canine freestyle judge for Rally-FrEe Style Elements. She was also a member of the World Canine Free Style Organization where she competed. She loved training her dogs and enjoyed vacations at the beach and traveling.

Friends will be received from 2-4 & 6-8 pm Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2019 at Jon C. Russin Funeral Home, Inc. Bellwood. A funeral service will be held at 11am Thursday, Jan.

3, 2019 at the funeral home, Pastor Gloria Montgomery officiating. Interment will be at Logan Valley Cemetery, Bellwood. The family suggests contributions in Diane’s memory be made to Central PA Humane Society, Altoona.
