Dixie’s Obituary Dixie Jean (Alsip) Simpson passed away suddenly on Saturday, March 17, 2019 following an accidental fall while on vacation in Bali, Indonesia. Dixie was born in Oilton, Ok on Jan 25, 1944 to Glen and Ruth Alsip. She graduated from Quay High School in 1962 and married her high school sweetheart Elmer Ray Simpson on Dec 23, 1962.

During Ray’s military career, they lived in Germany; White Sands, New Mexico; and Lawton, OK. They later lived in Lexington, OK for 20 years before retiring to Oilton, OK. Although Dixie preferred to stay home and care for her family, she did various jobs over the years.

She had her own business cleaning houses, selling Tri-chem Liquid Embroidery, and selling Tupperware. She also worked in a factory rebuilding auto parts for a few years and later worked for an office tracking down land owners for oil companies. Dixie was an active member of the Jehovah’s Witnesses congregation in Cleveland, OK.

Dixie loved to talk and she loved people. She would gladly go out of her way to help anyone in need. Dixie had a green thumb.

She liked quilting, interior decorating, and enjoyed reading and watching mysteries. She was beloved by her family and many friends. Dixie is survived by her children: Brenda Honn of Lawton, OK; Bob and Marcia Simpson of Edmond, OK; and Debbie Simpson of Oilton, OK; nephew Quinton Alsip of Wagoner, OK who thought of her as a 2nd mother; grandchildren: Aubrey and Jeremy Berruto of Oklahoma City; Mallory and Campbell Simpson of Edmond, OK; William Zayn Strider, Amelia Chappell, and Judson McCarthy of Oilton, OK; James Chappell of Stillwater, OK; Siblings: Shirley Chapman of Leonard, TX; Judy Warden of Cushing, OK; Toby Alsip of Yale, OK; Ted Alsip of Stillwater, OK; Tim Alsip of Eugene, OR; and numerous well-loved in-laws and nieces and nephews.

Dixie was preceded in death by her husband Elmer Ray Simpson; her siblings: Max Alsip and Gwendolyn Alsip; and her parents: Ruth and Glen Alsip. Services are pending.
