Dola’s Obituary Dola Runde, 86, of East Dubuque, IL, passed away, peacefully, at home on December 11, 2018. Visitation will be Thursday, December 13, 2018, from 3 P/M to 7 P/M, at the Miller Funeral Home, in East Dubuque, IL, where the Parish and Altar/Rosary Society rosary will be recited at 2:30 P/M. Visitation will continue Friday morning, December 14, 2018, from 8:45 A/M to 9:45 A/M at the funeral home.

Members of the East Dubuque Fire Department will meet at 6 P/M, on Thursday, at the funeral home. The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 A/M, on Friday, December 14, 2018, at St. Mary’s Church, in East Dubuque, with Fr. Dean Smith officiating.

Burial will be in the East Dubuque Cemetery. Dola was born on March 6, 1932, in Dubuque, IA, the daughter of Ray and Mildred (Kueper) Budde. She attended and graduated from The Visitation.

Dola was united in marriage to LaVerne A. Runde on November 20, 1954, at Nativity Church in Dubuque. They celebrated (64) wonderful years together. She was a homemaker, along with babysitting and volunteering at St. Mary’s School.

Dola was a member of St. Mary’s Altar and Rosary Society. Dola looked forward to her outings and lunch with LaVerne and her friends. She enjoyed family visits and phone conversations, especially with her grandchildren and great-granddaughters.

Dola always loved a good conversation and meeting new people. Surviving Dola is her husband, LaVerne; two sons, Dr. Mark (Kate) and Richard (Wanda), both of Dubuque, IA; eight grandchildren, Dr. Matt, of Wichita, KS, Kevin, Elizabeth and Tom, of Minneapolis, MN, Amy, of Bettendorf, IA, Christie (Colin) Sinnott, of Dubuque, IA, Sarah (Zane Hoffman), of Chicago, IL, and Michael, of Dubuque, IA; two great-granddaughters, Jocelyn and Molly Sinnott, of Dubuque, IA; two sisters, Donna (Bob) Beyer, of Waukesha, WI, and Carol Budde Murray, of New Lenox, IL; and her in-laws, Dave and Joyce Runde, of Wisconsin Dells, WI; along with many nieces and nephews. Dola was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Mildred Budde; her step-mother, Lucille Budde; brother-in-law, Tom Murray; nephew, Neal Murray; and in-laws, Bernie and Eileen Runde, Gerry and Mary Runde, and Phil and Mary Ann Runde.

The family would like to “thank” Dr. Mark Moore and his nurses at Medical Associates, Hospice of Dubuque, especially Kristin and group for their wonderful care and conversations.
