Obituary of Dolores Dobbins Dolores Arline Dobbins, 90, formerly of 160 Bowen St. Jamestown, passed away at 6:26 pm Wednesday, September 19, 2018, in the Heritage Park Rehab and Skilled Nursing Facility. An area resident for most of her life, she was born December 2, 1927 in Meadville, PA, a daughter of the late Warner Lee and Ernestine Warren Robertson. She was a graduate of Meadville High School and earned two associates degrees with honors from Jamestown Community College in Liberal Arts and Geriatrics.

While living in Meadville, PA she had worked as a beautician for several years and also at Talon Zipper before moving to Jamestown where she worked for the former Woolworth Department Store, the YWCA, and the Jamestown Police Department. Dolores was a longtime member of the North Main St. Church of God where she served as church treasure and a trustee. She was an active volunteer for many organizations over the years serving as a trustee for the Chautauqua County Multiple Sclerosis Society, a literacy volunteer, was a life member of the Parent Teacher Association.

She was also a member of the League of Women Voters, was an election inspector working the polls every year and served as secretary for Senior Council of Retired Executives (SCORE). She will be remembered for her kind spirit, generosity and great love of her church and community. Surviving are her husband, Bernard Leon Dobbins whom she married April 23, 1947, a daughter; Kathleen (Raymond) Jackson of Derwood, MD, a son; Michael Dobbins of San Diego, CA; three grandsons Christopher Robinson of Raleigh, NC and Brandon and Bryan Jackson both of Derwood, MD; three great grandchildren and a sister Betty Johnson of Los Angeles, CA.

She was preceded in death by a daughter Karen Dobbins in 2007; a brother Warner “Sonny” Robertson; and son in law David Riemer. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday September 29, 2018, in the Lind Funeral Home. Rev.

William Smith and Sister Marian Battle will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery. Friends will be received from 5-7 p.m. Friday September 28, 2018 and for one hour prior to the service Saturday in the funeral home.
