Don Marriott Jr., 54, of Nederland, passed away Thursday, February 28, 2019. Don was born September 8, 1964 in Thousand Oaks, California to Donald Howard Marriott Sr. and Loretta Jean Keegan Marriott. Don had a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science.

He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force, and was retired from General Dynamics as a Senior Systems Engineer with 28 years of service. Don spent his adult years working and traveling in England, Germany, Iraq, Turkey, Bosnia, and Afghanistan. Donnie loved and adored his family.

He enjoyed fly fishing, was extremely passionate about the Dodgers and Lakers, and was an overall avid sport fan. He generously treated his parents on many trips to Vegas and created wonderful memories. We will miss his exuberant laughter and big bear hugs.

Don is survived by his mother, Loretta Marriott of Nederland; three sisters, Susan Lowary and husband Doug of Valrico, Florida, Sharon Wright and her husband Kenneth of Nederland, his twin sister Barbara Johnson and her husband Andy of Charlotte, North Carolina; nieces, Nicole Lowary, and Natalie Lowary; nephews, Joshuah Johnson, Matthew Johnson, and Colton Wright. He is preceded in death by his father, Donald Howard Marriott Sr. A gathering of the family and friends will begin 10:00 a.m. Thursday March 7, 2019 with his funeral service to follow at 12:00 noon at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland with Rev. Dr. Douglas Caldwell officiating.

Interment and military graveside service will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches.
